At the award show I had started to thank a few of the bands that I had worked with this year Billy Whittemore chuckled, knowing I shouldn’t have gone there. He was correct, I drew a blank. So when I got home I went through my trusty pocket calendar to be able to thank the bands I had the pleasure of gigging with this year to date. At the show I mentioned: The Goat Ropers, Jeannie Lovering & Camelian, Crossfire, and Bunkhouse. In addition to them:
I would like to thank: The Farm Hands, Branded, Snakebite, Dottie Zack & the Outlaws, Al Wilde & Crossroads, Rachel Landry & Western Partners, Cindy Lane and Double E and the band “Something to Talk About” Plus most recently at The Mishnock Barn. “All-Star Band” I had the pleasure to be part of with Mark Sampson on fiddle, Joe LePage on keyboard & fiddle, Rick Latina on lead guitar, Dave Windsor on drums, and Andy Solberg on guitar. So a big “Thank-You” to the band leaders, to the band members, and greatly appreciated folks who voted me “Bass Player of the Year 2013”.
"P.S. I have one more goal this year to do on my Bucket List. And that’s play a gig with Kenny Laws’ Band. But that would mean Phil Brigham would have to call in sick, or go on vacation. OOH well!
Sincerely, Elaine Ellis
I want to thank the MCMAA and all it's members for the three awards given to me at the awards show.
The lead guitar award is near and dear to my heart - I love guitars, and I love guitar players.
Which brings me to my fellow nominees Dave Brown, Andy Solberg, Deane Sampson, Jim Ribeiro and Chuck Parrish. (Mike Roberts and Rich Gordon absolutely deserve to be on there too)
All of them great players, and cool human beings too !
I want to thank John Haldoupis and the Crossfire band, Kenny Law & The Lawmen, and Wayne Petrino and the Bunkhouse Band. We get to play music together, have fun with our friends and make a few bucks all at the same time. Nice ! And of course I love and I thank my wife Pam, who keeps me up and running.
A huge thank you to all the country music fans here in Mass./RI/NH - without you we wouldn't have much reason to do what we do.
Thanks so much, Phil Brigham
